Financial Assistance for IDP of N-Waziristan Agency
In the wake of “Zarb-e-Azab” operation launched by Pakistan Army on June 15, 2014 in North Waziristan Agency about 1 million people have left their homes, properties, livestock, assets, and are now dwelling under tough circumstances. Most of the Displaced People have moved to District Bannu of KPK and other parts of the country.
Steps Taken
Government of the Punjab showed an abrupt response to the desolated situation of the IDPs and took the following steps:

• Rice (20 Kg Bags)
• Dates (60 Tons)
• Fodder (12 Kg Bags)
• Sewing Machines
• Eid Gift Package
• Field Hospital
• Anti-Snake Venom
• Water Purification Plant
• Charpoys
• Pedestal Fans
• Water Tanks (Full Size)
• Electric Water Cooler
• Wheel Chairs
• Gas cylinder with stoves
Financial Assistance Program
To minimize the gloom of IDPs, Government of the Punjab launched a Financial Assistance Program (FAP) on July 14, 2014 with the collaboration of Bank of Punjab and ZONG. Under the program an amount of PKR. 7000 is being provided monthly to each family. To meet this purpose, the Chief Minster Punjab constituted a committee for cash disbursement to the IDPs under the chairmanship of Chief Secretary Punjab.
